Miss Naomi turned seven weeks old yesterday (which pretty much knocks my brain on it's proverbial butt). To mark the occasion she had a couple of firsts. The first of which was her first day without clothes. It was way too hot for clothes! She spent the morning rocking her pink diaper ad relaxing in her "lounge chair" in the shade. The next couple of firsts happened overnight. I woke up in the wee hours of the morning to a familiar sucking sound without the familiar sensation that usually accompanies that sound. I turned on the light to find that not only had Naomi found her thumb to suck, but had also rolled from her back to her belly! This could come in very handy since she seemed to be putting herself back to sleep without my help. She's also begun smiling in reaction to people instead of just as she's dozing in and out of sleep. They get bigger each day and make Lawson laugh each time. Just when I didn't think she could get any cuter, she busts out a smile that could light up the room!
She's a very strong little girl and I often find that her cries are because she wants to stand up. She is forever pushing against things with her feet. I'm just going to guess that she'll be walking early. She is getting stronger by the day and this week has been able to stand up straight while propped against the back of a chair without me holding onto her.
It's been a whirlwind seven weeks, but a fantastic seven weeks. Crazy that in just another week she will be two months old and Lawson will be two years old. Hopefully until then, we'll have lots more days of relaxing in the sun together while Lawson runs around the yard with sticks and pushes the boundaries of the yard as far as he can stretch them!
such a beautiful little girl! ou are very blessed!
