Oobladie Oobladah....

"...Life goes on!  Woah!!!  Ladidadi life goes on."

Life has been going on full force around here and I haven't been able to catch my breath long enough to sort my thoughts out for a blog.  Without getting into all the details, we are moving AGAIN.  Another DITY move just four months after we "moved in."  And by moved in, I mean that I got most of our items out of the box and into their respective area of dwelling, but never got around to organizing it all before we found out that said items would need to high tail it back into a box to head to our next stop - Meridian, Mississippi.  I got about a three week break from staring at moving boxes.  I sold them all on Craigslist, and then Dustin went and bought some shiny, new moving boxes to turn our garage into storage unit until we pack up the truck.  Honestly, my life is littered with boxes, tape and itemized lists!!!  That said, once I got past the "Oh my gosh I'm trapped in a bad dream where I never get to live in a house that I'm not packing or unpacking will you please just put me out of my misery now my life is crazy" shock of it all, I've grown quite fond of the idea.

Yes, I was looking forward to living in Texas (for THREE years), but it's a great opportunity to experience different parts of the country that I would have never, ever, ever, ever lived in otherwise.  I'm not saying Mississippi won't be a great place to live, I'm just saying it wasn't on the top of my list of "would like to live there" states.  And, it's only for a year or so!  If it's awful, we'll be leaving soon anyway, which is great.   Mississippi is sort of famous, though!  Who doesn't remember running around as a kid trying to spell it as fast as they could?!  M.I.S.S.I.S.S.I.P.P.I!!!!!

Also, we have a new puppy running around amidst us, which just adds to the chaos joy one can expect to experience here on a daily basis.  He is a little daschund and he is so.  chill.  The perfect little guy for our family!  He figured out the crate training situation in just a few nights and now he sleeps soundly until morning (which is more than can be said for the small two legged creatures in this house!).  It was a crucial first step.  The only thing I'm having a problem with is the puppy pee and puppy doo.  I deal with enough bodily excretions already, so this part makes me slightly resentful.  Dustin reminds me that he is a "puppy" and is still learning.  Honestly, he's doing a really good job, but it's always a bummer to find a puddle of pee on the til you just steam cleaned.  He isn't allowed in the bedrooms where there is carpet, so it's really not too bad, but I can't wait for him to get his second round of the Parvo vaccine so he can go outside instead of on a piddle pad!  So, here is our, always cuddly, sometimes playful, chill little doggy, Porter:

That's the update for now!  I'm hoping I can try to catch up on some of the little things that have been going on around here over the next few weeks, but we'll see how that goes!  If you don't hear from me for a while, check inside a cardboard box!
